critic/Winery Review: The 2010 vintage exhibits appealing aromas of black
cherry, ripe currant and lightly roasted coffee. Supple tannins and balanced
acidity support core flavors of black cherry and blackberry intertwined with
sweet herbs and accents of black pepper spice. Link to Review
My Review: And
now back to the good old US of A for some traditional California wine. This wine comes from the Lodi region of
California meaning it has got to be good!
Especially since it comes from the ‘noble cabernet vines for France’ (as
quoted by the label on the back of the bottle).
The smell of this wine was black cherry with hints of spice. It was not a very complex smell but a warm
smell. The taste of this wine was just
gorgeous. It was very smooth and this
was the first time in a while that I really noticed a good mid-pallet. The hint of spice was there but it wasn’t
over powering. This wine was great to
drink by itself but having it with food would only improve the already delightful
flavor.
